Also a few days ago Apostle of Hustle and Arts & Crafts put up a free download of a remix of 'Chances Are'. The original is off of National Anthem of Nowhere which we've posted about in the past. The remix was done by Jim Eno. Many of you might recognize him as the drummer of Spoon. The remix is pretty nice. I've always found that AOH remixes very well, perhaps due to the fact that the original song structures are so rhythmically sound. Enjoy!
If you aren't able to swing the other big festivals going on this year, maybe this one will get you going. The SASQUATCH! Music Festival of Washington State has just announced the line up, the dates, and a pre sale. It's from May 24-26th (Memorial Day Weekend). Here's the line up:

Pretty sweet huh? Pre sale begins on March 8th here. On that weekend single day tickets are only $56.50 and three day packages are $154.50. After the 10th it's $66.50 per day. Or if you've got money simply falling out of your pockets you could buy a pair of VIP super tickets(only sold in pairs) for $750 per person granting you V.I.P. access, beer and wine, a buffet, a poster, a t-shirt, a bag, and private seating next to the sound board. Again this line up is pretty good, and if it were not for the fact that it's on the opposite side of the United States from me, I would definitely consider going.
Finally, our local friends Thrushes recently gave news of a Heartbeats remix album coming out shortly. You can actually go vote for the remix you like the most over at senbaltimore.com. Do it now!
There a number of tours either just starting or launching pre sales.

There's a couple of SXSW shows that feature bands that we enjoy greatly at Pasta Primavera. If you're heading out that way in March, be sure to check out Georgie James, Le Loup, Pash, Middle Distance Runner, These United States, Carol Bui, Jukebox The Ghost, and Exit Clov at the Cream Vintage Store on the 13th. The address is 2532 Guadalupe Street. Another band that we adore playing SXSW is Ravens & Chimes. They hit the SXSW day stage on the 13th and a showcase at Club Deville on the 14th. If you catch either of these shows, please feel free to let us know how it went.
Caribou just put out a new video for the song 'She's The One' off of last years hit Andorra. They're also in the midst of a crazy extensive European/Canadien/US tour. They're playing everywhere, so there's no reason not to go see them. Here's the video:
There's one show worth mentioning tonight in Virginia. IOTA plays host to a stellar folk line up (perfect vibe for a Monday if you ask me) in Peter And The Wolf (not to be confused with Peanut Butter Wolf---same amount of syllables---way different sound), Nat Baldwin, and the ver touring These United States. Go have a listen.

From At Ease, Radiohead have announced the US and Canadian cities that will be blessed with the best live band in the world. Still no dates or venues, but good news......especially for anyone on the east coast. Heres the list, in alphabetical order:
Atlanta Boston Charlotte Chicago Cleveland Dallas Houston Indianapolis Los Angeles Miami Montreal New York Philadelphia San Diego San Francisco Santa Barbara Seattle St Louis Tampa Toronto Vancouver Washington DC
Update: Apparently some of the shows will precede the European tour, with others to follow.
I've really been diggin these guys since I picked up their new release, entitled April. Vast offers complex, beautiful songs driven by strong melodies and powerful vocals provided by front man Jon Crosby. April, released in October on Crosby's own label, 2blossoms Records and Media is extremely well produced and sucks you in on the first listen. Vast will be setting out on a US tour on November 30th, with a stop in Baltimore on February 16th at the 8x10. Should be a good time.
Hey there folks. I've got a little friday info for y'all. First Caribou has announced that they've made an entire concert(at the pink room) available for free at youtube along with some other videos of theirs. Check it out here.
November is a busy month for shows. Now its busier. I come to find out today that Menomena and Illinois are playing the Black Cat in Washington DC on November 6th...a Tuesday. Why oh why is the weekend only two friggin' days!Hmm...unless...hehehe. Anyway I was talking about something, wasn't I? Oh yes! Good music! Listen. Buy. Go to the show. Maybe I'll see you there. Illinois - Screendoor more Illinois --> website --> buy Menomena - Wet and Rusting more Menomena --> website --> buy
While temporarily engulfed with the beautiful music of Radiohead, I some how managed to come up to the surface and remember that there is some other music being produced these days. And hey this music ain't half bad either. Sea Wolf's frontman Alex Brown Church is mysterious fellow it seems. Or at least that's what comes across in Sea Wolf's music for me. This is music to sit on the porch of an old cabin by the mountainside while gazing into the light fog hanging there down in the valley. Not really Friday music, but quite possibly good Sunday morning music.
Also Sea Wolf is currently on tour with NADA SURF! Check their myspace page for the dates. If you're in the Baltimore area they will be at the 8x10 on November 2nd.
