I'm Sold On Monogold

If you're like me, you enjoy getting in the car to drive to or from work and putting the ipod on shuffle. Just letting the music take you where it's going to take you. Recently, when I do this, a band has me frequently picking my ipod up and saying, "Who is this?" It's Monogold. Then I press repeat. Monogold is a four piece band from New York that plays dramatic indie rock that is seldom heard. The band formed in 2002, when they all met at a NY college, first being called R.U.O.K.. From there they went on to what we now know as Monogold, releasing their debut, Waves, in 2007. The instrumentation is melodic and moving, but it all comes together with Keith's soaring vocals (they remind me of the sheila divine). Something tells me that Monogold will be big...soon.
